Catherine (Deering) Dynof

Catherine (Deering) Dynof, 97, of Cheesequake Village/Old Bridge Township, passed away, Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at home.  She was born in New York City.  She retired in 1984, from Westinghouse, Edison. In retirement she volunteered for a number of health care nonprofits in the community and enjoyed her travels in the U.S. and abroad. She was a member of the Rosary Alter Society at St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor; and a member of the Sunshine Club at Cheesequake Village. She lived life to the fullest and loved the time she spent with her family, friends, and church.

Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Dynof in 1987; a son, William Dynof, Jr. and his wife Elaine; her parents, John and Catherine (Schmitz) Deering; and her siblings. She is survived by her loving children, Helen Piccolo of Matawan; and Gerald Dynof of Wyalusing; three cherished grandchildren, Samantha Piccolo, Rachel Walters and her husband Joseph, and Suzanne Petro and her husband Robert; and three precious great grandchildren, Rebecca Petro, Jordan Stangle and Julian Sacharnoski.  She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

At the direction of family, Catherine will be privately cremated. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, was entrusted with the cremation arrangements.  A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor on July 22, 2016 at 10am.  You may post a condolence to the family at the funeral home website www.dayfuneralhome.com.
