Carolyn A. (Thomas) Van Brunt

Carolyn A. (Thomas) Van Brunt, 80, of Union Beach, passed away, Thursday, April 27, 2017, at home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born at home in Union Beach and remained a lifelong resident.  She was a homemaker and loved pets and caring for them.

Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, David F. Van Brunt in 2005; her parents, Arthur and Anna (Halligan) Thomas; a son-in-law, Vincent Portera; her nine siblings; and a grandson, Luke Nesbihal.  She is survived by her loving daughters, Sherrie Portera of Howell, Sharon Nesbihal and her husband Brian of Middletown and Stephanie Laberdee and her husband Patrick of Union Beach; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Portera and his wife Marisa, Jennifer Parelli and her husband Pat, Tara Nesbihal, Amanda Vollmuth and her husband Tim, Justin Laberdee and his wife Melissa and Tony Laberdee and his wife Amanda; and three precious great grandchildren, Justin Gabriel, Caden and McKenna.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, with prayers in the evening; and Monday, May, 1, 2017, 8:30AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow 11AM Chapel at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Carolyn to the Luke F.
