Bernard J. Sacharanski, 89, of Howell, passed away, February 4, 2017, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born in Wallington, NJ, where he grew up.  He moved to Union Beach, prior to settling in Howell.  For 23 years, Bernard worked at IFF as a maintenance worker, retiring in 1990.  He served his country in the Army during WWII.  He was a parishioner of Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach; and active with the Howell Senior Citizens and the American Legion.  He enjoyed building birdhouses, taking and viewing photographs of family and loved to vacation.

Bernard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Sacharanski; a daughter, Donna Sacharanski in 1968; his parents, Anthony and Giselle (Klimko) Sacharanski; and a brother, Frank Sacharanski.  He is survived by two sons, Keith Sacharanski and his wife Maryann and Robert Sacharanski and his wife Cheryl; two sisters, Eleanore Nuss and Jean Perzel; seven cherished grandchildren, Thomas Sacharanski and wife Lauren; Michelle Sacharanski; Stephen Sacharanski and fiancé Brynn; James Sacharanski; Brandan Sacharanski; Erin Sacharanski and Stephanie Sacharanski; and a precious great grandchild Graham.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ   07735; and Friday, February 10, 2017, 9AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM Funeral Mass at Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach.  Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.  To post a condolence to the family or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
