Andrew Lopez, Jr.

Andrew Lopez, 78, of Matawan, passed away, Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at home.  He was born in Bethlehem, PA; resided in New York City, NY, before settling in Matawan for the past 47 years. He worked as an insurance agent with NY Life Insurance Co., North Jersey, prior to retiring.  He was a past Matawan Councilman; and past Matawan Fire Commissioner. Andrew was an avid Giants and Mets fan.  He served his country in the Navy during Peacetime.

Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Josephine Lopez, Sr.; and a son, Joseph Lopez.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Edith Lopez; two sons, Tony and his wife Nancy of Montgue; and Robert and his wife Sharon of Cranford; a brother, Joseph Lopez of Spain; seven cherished grandchildren and six precious great grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017, from 6-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Saturday, January 21, 2017, 8:30AM at the funeral home, with a    9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Keyport.  To post a condolence to the family or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
