Amelia Marie Gorton, 78, of Hazlet, passed away, Saturday, July 20, 2013, after a long illness at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born Amelia Marie Walters in Tarentum, PA to Homer H. Walters and Amelia (Forney) Walters. She was a waitress and a homemaker.
Amelia leaves behind three daughters, Karen Stratton of Myrtle Beach, SC; Robin Hall of Conway, SC; and Christina Cardo and husband John of Hazlet; a stepdaughter, Jean Perrillo of San Diego, CA; a daughter-in-law, Susan Walters of Kilgore, TX; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margarett Jones of Ohio and Patricia Denardo and husband Bernard of Ford City, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Robert E. Gorton; two sons, Fredrick Siena and Bobby Walters; stepdaughter, Grace Thatcher; parents, Homer and Amelia Walters; four brothers, Homer, John, Jim and Walt Walters; and four sisters, Susie Walters, Mary Crissman, Florence Pitkovich and Shirley Ables. She will be in our hearts forever.
