Albert F. Caggiano

Albert F. Caggiano, 72, of Hazlet, passed away, Sunday, June 18, 2017, at home.  He was born in Staten Island, NY. 

Albert was predeceased by his parents, Albert Caggiano, Sr. and Julia (Derenzo) Caggiano.  He is survived by his loving wife, Julieann (Shutter) Caggiano; and his son, Gregory Caggiano, both of Hazlet; and his mother-in-law, Julia Shutter of Keyport.

He worked for many years as an Assistant Manager in the steamship industry for Associated Container Transportation and later with Blue Star Line out of the New York World Trade Center. 

He was a loving husband and father, who enjoyed spending time with his family and his cantankerous cat, Lawrence.  He was a long-time usher for Holy Family Church, Union Beach.  He loved watching sports, mainly the New York Rangers and the San Francisco Giants, with his son.  Albert spent time coaching youth basketball, baseball and hockey.  He also loved traveling to Lancaster, PA and Ocean City, MD. 

At the request of family, Albert will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited for a Memorial Mass on Thursday, June 22, 2017, 9:15AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church, Middletown Road, Holmdel.  Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.   You may post a condolence to the family at the funeral home website www.dayfuneralhome.com.  IN LIEU OF FLOWERS - THE FAMILY REQUESTS DONATIONS BE MADE TO EITHER TO THE ASPCA OR TO ST.
